DripDrop’s Fast Hydration Tour: Austin, TX Recap

This spring, we packed up our bags and kicked off the DripDrop 2024 Fast Hydration Tour. First stop? Austin, TX, where our local Thirst Responders Randy and Laura gave us the lowdown on ATX.

We felt incredibly lucky to meet so many enthusiastic people during our eight weeks in Austin, where we gave out more than 150,000 DripDrop samples across the city. To help people experience the delicious taste of DripDrop and its fast-hydrating ability, we drip dropped product samples to more than 60 schools, firehouses, athletic organizations, grocery stores, and more. We got to spend time with many of the city’s run clubs, including our friends at Gilbert’s Gazelles, Run It Back ATX Run Club, and Nolensville Women's Running Club.

Each of the 100+ events we attended across Austin was packed with fun, and we connected with so many people — some long-time DripDrop fans and some just experiencing DripDrop’s fast hydration for the first time. Here were just a few of the major events in ATX that stood out.

Statesman CAP10k

During our first week in Austin, we attended the 47th annual Statesman CAP10k, the largest 10k in Texas. Thousands of walkers and runners crossed the finish line to celebrate their achievement and enjoy refreshments, live music, food vendors, and more. As an official event partner, DripDrop was there to keep participants hydrated and motivated!

Longhorn Run at UT

This annual 5k and 10k hosted by the University of Texas (UT) was an absolute blast to attend. Since the first Longhorn Run in 2010, this event has become an annual tradition for UT students and the greater Austin community. We were thrilled to provide fast hydrating DripDrop samples to runners and experience the beauty of the UT campus.

COTA Bike Nights

As an official partner, DripDrop attended multiple COTA bike nights, a unique weekly activity that takes place on Tuesday evenings and attracted about 500 cyclists. Each week, the COTA (Circuit of the Americas) track where legendary F1 races and motorsports events take place, is open to cyclists. As riders navigated the track’s twists, turns, and hills, we provided DripDrop to keep energy and hydration levels high. Even our Thirst Responders Randy and Laura participated, hitting the track on their custom DripDrop bikes.

Sunshine Run

More than 15,000 people gathered at the Vic Mathias/Auditorium Shores to participate in the 2024 Sunshine Run, which offered 5k and 10k timed runs, 5k Fastest Dog in Austin event, timed Kids K run, and a virtual 5k and 10k for those who couldn’t attend in person. Experiencing the scenery and landscape of downtown Austin was almost as exhilarating as chatting with participants as they pushed for the finish line.

Stronger Together Festival

DripDrop teamed up with our friends at Austin-based health and wellness app Sweatpals for their Stronger Together Festival. With more than 35 fitness and wellness classes, attendees had the chance to experience everything from dance and meditation classes to HIIT workouts and strength training. We loved the chance to connect with other like-minded people focused on health and wellness as they explored vendors, enjoyed food and beverages, and participated in wellness activities such as massages, IVs, and more.

Dink & Drink

We had so much fun with our friends at Sweatpals, we had to run it back for a second event before leaving ATX. This pickleball-themed collab took place at the legendary Austin Pickleball Ranch, where 60 individuals competed for the title of King and Queen of the Pickleball Court. We enjoyed cheering on the competitors, indulging in some food and drinks, and handing out custom VIP swag bags to the attendees — including custom DripDrop paddle covers.

Hot Luck Fest

One of the most anticipated annual events in Austin, Hot Luck Fest combines the unique regional cuisine of Austin with the thrill of live music. DripDrop was an official sponsor of this four-day culinary lifestyle event, and participated in the Saturday night Al Feugo event. This main event highlights chefs’ use of open-air cooking with classic backyard BBQ offerings paired with cold drinks and great music. As attendees made their rounds and listened to the band, we kept the crowd hydrated so they could enjoy all the evening had to offer.

After all the fun we had in ATX, it was hard to say goodbye, but the Fast Hydration Tour must go on! Over the next two months, we’ll be exploring Nashville, TN, and Denver, CO. Keep your eye out for the DripDrop van in your city, and stay up-to-date with our events and recaps.
