More than 40% of Dominicans live below the poverty line, which lends itself to an extremely low standard of health. Infectious disease is prevalent and chronic non-communicable diseases are on the rise. Associated dehydration is frequent and widespread.
For our 2nd mission trip with our partner, The Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children, Team DripDrop traveled to Project Restauracion. They taught community classes on the use of oral rehydration therapy and provided clinical care, both door-to-door and at health clinics.
